Governor's Community Forums on Choices and Priorities Another opportunity for your voice to be heard. How will the drastically reduced and elimination of some disability services affect individuals with disabilities and their families? Between now and the end of May, the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and senior officials from the administration will host forums with local residents in 36 cities and towns on the choices facing the Commonwealth in the current economic climate. These conversations will provide residents a chance to ask questions,
offer suggestions and engage with their government and their neighbors

Legislature to Hold Hearings on DDS Institutions Closure Plan The Joint Committee on Families, Children and Disabilities will hold a public hearing in the Gardner Hall at the State House on the Administration's plan to close four state institutions. Come Testify On behalf of Community Inclusion. Self Advocates, Families and other citizens who support the closure of the institutions in the state of Massachusetts should attend this hearing. There are legislators who have asked for more information regarding the closure of institutions and value of individuals living in the community. Oral and written testimony will be taken. If you speak, your written testimony will still be needed. |
